about

i am a london based choreographer, aikido instructor and feldenkrais practitioner

what bridges these disciplines is my fascination with movement and people; what moves us and how do we learn, create, relate or negotiate through movement

i approach these questions through explorations involving structure and freeplay. i’m curious how movement can shift limiting preconceptions, spark creative imagination and sharpen awareness of novelty and choice

since 1995, i have been creating works in solo, duo, ensemble and collaborative forms. for myself i have created a trio of solo’s that focus on the politics of the black male performing body. most recently i have worked under the guise of colin, simon & i in collaboration with NZ artist simon ellis exploring dynamics in male friendship. my latest work per-mission is commissioned by state of emergency productions. it explores the issue of consent in sexual relations and toured the UK throughout spring 2014
